Impact of Geometrical Disorder on Phase Equilibria of Fluids and Solids Confined in Mesoporous Materials

Porous solids used in practical applications often possess structural disorder over broad length scales. This strongly affects different properties of the substances confined their pore spaces. Quantifying and correlating it with physical matter is thus a necessary step toward rational use porous process optimization. The present work focuses on recent advances made understanding correlations between phase state geometric nanoporous solids. We overview recently developed statistical theory for transitions minimalistic model disordered networks: linear chains pores disorder. By its predictions various experimental observations, we show that this gives notable insight into collective phenomena phase-transition processes materials capable explaining self-consistently majority results obtained gas–liquid solid–liquid equilibria mesoporous potentials improving gas sorption thermoporometry characterization are discussed.
